The Revd Dr Amanda Bloor is to join the diocesan team of Directors of Ordinands, leading work in Berkshire (0. 6 of her time) and supporting work in Oxford and Dorchester (0. 4 of her time). In Berkshire, Amanda succeeds the Revd David Heslop who retires in August. Speaking of her appointment, Bishop Andrew Proud said "We had an excellent field of candidates for this position, amongst whom Amanda demonstrated the best understanding of this role.

Her recent PhD research has given her a unique insight into those entering ordained ministry.

She will have much to contribute as we support the large number of people offering for ordained ministry today."I'm hugely grateful for the work that David Heslop has taken in building up vocations work in Berkshire.

We shall miss him, but Amanda is a worthy successor and I am delighted that she will be with us."Speaking of her new position, Amanda said "I'm delighted to be joining the diocesan team and to be taking up new challenges.

It's great to be remaining in the diocese and I look forward to building on relationships I've developed here as Bishop John's chaplain".

Amanda will continue as Diocesan Adviser on Women's Ministry.

She takes up her new post on 1 September. Click here to hear Amanda talking about her role as Bishop John's chaplain and her move to become a Director of Ordinands.
