Resident Chaplain (House for Duty) for Goring Heath Almshouses

The Bishop of Dorchester and the Trustees of Goring Heath Charities invite applications for the post of

Resident Chaplain (House for Duty)
for Goring Heath Almshouses, Goring Heath, RG8 7RS

We seek a "People Person" priest for the "parish in miniature" of the Goring Heath Almshouses, set in 23 acres of grounds in the beautiful South Oxfordshire countryside.

St Bartholomew’s Chapel provides the central focus of the 12 almshouses establishment and BCP and KJV Sunday services are conducted in it by the Chaplain, with a considerable part of the congregation being from outside the almshouses. The Chaplain is also responsible for the pastoral needs of the community. An attractive three-bedroom house, situated within this idyllic estate in Goring Heath is on the doorstep of the vibrant village communities of Woodcote, Whitchurch and Goring-on-Thames, which provide excellent transport links to Reading, Oxford, London and beyond.

We would welcome informal visits. For an informal discussion, please contact the Chairman of the Trustees at garryjforster@gmail.com

For the benefice Profile, and to apply, please visit: Church Times Jobs and tick the ‘London and Home Counties’ box.

Closing date: 30 June 2025
Interviews: from 14 July 2025
