Ian Macdonald has been the youth adviser for the Diocese since June 2003 and brings with him 30+ years experience of working with teenagers.  He is a professionally qualified youth worker, a licensed youth minister and holds a number of qualifications in outdoor education.

In the role of youth adviser he provides:

  • Consultancy to parishes, PCCs and youth workersIan-MacDonald
  • Training for youth leaders
  • Monthly e-mail to youth leaders
  • Support for paid parish youth workers
  • Support for deanery initiatives
  • Organisation of Diocesan events for young people, including the Yellow Braces camp, Marked Out and trips to Taize
  • Liaison with Local Authority
  • Liaison with Voluntary Youth Services
  • Training and opportunities for young leaders
