On a historic day for the Church of England, Bishop Steven shared the love and prayers of the Diocese of Oxford as Archbishop Sarah Mullally is installed as Archbishop of Canterbury.
The Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd Dr Steven Croft, is travelling to Canterbury Cathedral for the installation of Archbishop Sarah Mullally as Archbishop of Canterbury. He is joined by the Rt Revd Mary Gregory, the Rt Revd Dave Bull and the Rt Revd Gavin Collins, along with the Very Revd Prof Sarah Foot, Dean of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford.
Describing the occasion as “a truly historic day”, Bishop Steven said the group would carry with them the love and prayers of the Diocese of Oxford.
“We pray that God will bless Archbishop Sarah Mullally richly during her time as Archbishop of Canterbury, and that God would bless our Church of England and the whole Anglican Communion,” he said.
“Archbishop Sarah, we thank God for you today, and we pray God’s richest blessing on you as you begin this new ministry which you undertake for the sake of God’s Church and God’s Kingdom. Amen.”
