Avoiding the spookiness

With Halloween fast approaching the hunt for Christian alternatives begins! So how are churches helping people who want to have fun while avoiding the season of spookiness? Charlotte Tyler compiled this list of church events across our Diocese.

St Aldate's, Oxford has a student night from 7-9 pm.

Afterwards, they are holding a night of outreach in the local community for vulnerable party goers.

For younger children there is a bowling night taking place from 6. 30 pm at Hollywood bowl.

(Ozone Leisure Park, Grenoble Rd, Oxford OX4 4XP).

Christ Church , Long Hanborough is holding a Light Party from 6-7pm.

It's a celebration of light in the darkness.

There will be games and activities (including pumpkin carving, apple bobbing and much more) and hot dogs and hot chocolate for everyone (including vegetarian options!).

St Thomas' Church on Mayflower Way, Beaconsfield, is set for Hot Chocolate Heaven 5-8pm with warm hot chocolate for chilling trick or treaters.

Bladon Junior Church is putting on several bewitching productions of 42 nd street from the 28 th of October to the 2 nd of November.

Chipping Norton Community Church is holding a scarily fun light part aimed at (but not limited to) children.

Buckingham Parish Church is involved in the Buckingham Churches Holiday Club Glow Party.

It will be an evening of light, colour and fun and will end with everyone sharing a meal together.

To attend email kids@bpchurch. uk St James' Church, Kingfisher Drive, Woodley is holding a Hero Party from 5. 30-7. 30pm. Children are invited to dress as their favourite hero. There is food, craft activities, games and a bouncy castle.
