The Church of England today announces its Easter twitter campaign #EasterMeans which will run from Maundy Thursday (17 April) until Easter Day (20 April). The campaign asks people to finish the sentence #EasterMeans � to share a personal meaning of Easter with pictures, stories and messages.
Bishops will be sharing what #EasterMeans to them in soundbite interviews to be released later this week. The campaign follows the success of the Christmas campaign, #Christmasmeans, which saw bishops, clergy and church congregations contribute to the campaign that reached more than four million people between Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.
Theologian and religious commentator @vickybeeching said: "I'm excited about the #EasterMeans campaign - it encourages Christians to give the world a window into their personal faith; why Easter matters to them and how the events of Jesus' death and resurrection have impacted their life."
The Easter campaign has been backed by @catherineogle, Dean of Birmingham, who is leading a Passion play in a pub during Holy Week to share the meaning of Easter: "I'm very positive about the #EasterMeans campaign because twitter is all about relationships and interaction, it invites response and enables Christians to talk in public and one to one about what really matters to them. "

The Archbishop of Canterbury @justinwelby has a range of engagements around the Canterbury area during Holy Week which include a visit to a foodbank, soup kitchen and other local projects, along with a Good Friday Walk of Witness and an Easter Sunday interview on BBC Radio 2's Good Morning Sunday with Clare Balding. The Archbishop of York, @johnsentamu, will be leading an Easter outdoor baptism service this Saturday, 19th April, with music and worship in a carnival atmosphere outside York Minster.
