Youth Worker and Schools Chaplain, Witney

,

We are seeking an energetic and proactive individual with a passion for young people’s ministry to join our Ministry Team within the Benefice of Witney: five Church of England churches, some large and some small, serving the town of Witney and the surrounding villages. Our styles of worship vary across our churches by embracing the eclectic and traditional while maintaining our sacramental focus.

We hope to appoint someone with a vibrant Christian faith who can articulate the good news of the Gospel in an engaging and accessible way to young people, within the church, our schools and in the broader community, and who can nurture people in their faith.

The role will involve team work, designing a range of youth outreach projects that support the spiritual wellbeing of local young people, developing our existing work with local schools, engaging and enthusing young worshippers in our churches, praying regularly with and for the young people, and training volunteers for sustainable growth. It will also include organising one-off youth-orientated events and activities.

We want to appoint a full-time worker on a fixed contract until 31 August 2023, with possibility of extension.

If candidates want to know more about the post, please contact the Revd Canon Toby Wright on toby@witneyparish.org.uk.

We are looking to appoint the right person by the end of May 2021 to start 1 September 2021 and see this recruitment process as one of prayerful, mutual discernment.
