Volunteer Vocations Champions (Berkshire)


The Diocese of Oxford is seeking Vocations Champions to be part of the Vocations Team in the Archdeaconry of Berkshire. We would like to make four appointments, to focus on Vocations amongst UKME, disabled people*, young people* and women.

You will have an interest in vocations work and advocacy for underrepresented groups. The role will give opportunities to gain experience in vocations work and learn about national discernment processes, working alongside the DDO and Vocations Team in Berkshire.

A semi-structured selection process will take place during the week commencing 4 October 2021.

These are volunteer roles, for which expenses will be paid.  The relevant training and full support from the DDO and area team will be provided.

There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) under Part 1 Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for the post holder to be a practising Christian, in good standing with the Church of England or a church that is a member of the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

* An enhanced DBS will be required for the Volunteer Vocations Champions working with disabled people and young people.
