AN OPEN DAY INVITATION FROM THE BENEFICE OF RUSCOMBE AND TWYFORD WITH HURST

We, the congregations of Ruscombe and Twyford with Hurst, are looking for an incumbent who will work with us to discover what God is calling us to do and to be, for the sake of His mission.

With this in mind, we would like to invite you to our Benefice OPEN DAY any time between 10.30am and 3.30pm on Saturday 17 June 2017 and see whether this is the place for you. Come and spend some time talking and listening with us. Our churches and vicarage will be open for informal viewing. Refreshments will be provided.

We are a lively and ambitious new benefice, and a Local Ecumenical Partnership.  We are committed to prayer, to our young people and to the communities around us. We are open to challenge and serious about following Jesus.  Situated in a semi rural and commuter belt location, close to the M4 corridor between London and Reading, our villages are in an attractive, thriving area with a strong sense of community, excellent amenities, outstanding schools and good transport links. The benefice of Ruscombe and Twyford with Hurst offers an exciting opportunity to build on a firm foundation as we draw closer together.

Could you help us realise our aspiration to be an energised community of disciples firmly rooted in Christ’s love, in a welcoming church that is growing and changing?

We are very conscious of the need to care for and support our new vicar who ideally:

  • Will live out their love for Christ in our villages
  • Is a proven spiritual and team leader
  • Is comfortable across a range of styles of worship
  • Has a heart for families
  • Will build relationships with community groups and businesses
  • Is spiritually mature, resilient and willing to challenge and coach
