HIGH Wycombe Church of England School said farewell to its longest-serving governor recently.
David Copcutt retires after 30 years as a governor at High Wycombe CE School.
David Copcutt has served as a Governor at the school for more than 30 years.
During that time, he has taken on a wide variety of roles and been vice-chair for many years.
David, who attends St James', Downley, and was involved with designing and building the church, has brought particular expertise to maintaining and developing the school premises.
This, along with his commitment to serving local children, and willingness to learn new skills and develop in the role, has made him a greatly valued and respected member of the governing body. Ruth Harley, chair of governors, said: "His wisdom, experience and dedication have been an inspiring example to children, staff and his fellow governors.
Although David is stepping down as a Governor, he will continue to be involved with the school, visiting weekly to spend time with the children in Reception class. Across the diocese, hundreds of people serve as Governors in our church schools.
Many of these, like David, are foundation governors, appointed by the PCC to serve the children of their parish in this role.
