A POPULAR Christmas tree festival returns to All Saints Church in High Wycombe on Saturday 16 December for the fourth year running.

The event will be open until Christmas Eve with more than 30 trees from organisations as diverse as the Women's Institute, One Can Trust food bank, and the Mad Squirrel Tap & Bottleshop. The Memories tree from Arnolds the Funeral Directors, will provide a place to remember our loved ones.

Throughout the festival, seasonal refreshments will also be available from the church café.

The trees provide a festive setting for the carol services organised in the run-up to Christmas. New this year is the Shoppers' Carol Service on Saturday 23 December at 4pm.

The Vicar, the Revd Hugh Ellis, said: "We know lots of people of all ages love to sing carols, so we wanted to offer a special opportunity for a bit of respite from a busy shopping day for them to come along to a short service where they can join in with some traditional favourites and hear our excellent choir."To accompany this year's carol services the church has also produced a series of podcasts, available via the church website, that relate the history and meaning of some of the traditional carols like O come, all ye faithful.

Derek Lancaster, a Licensed Lay Minister at All Saints, said: 'The carols we sing today have a fascinating and surprising history, and these little five-minute programmes are a great way to find out more and understand the message behind them."All Saints Church will be open daily from 11am, from 16 to 24 December for visitors to explore the Christmas Tree Festival.

Full details of all the Christmas services at All Saints are available via their website at allsaintshighwycombe. org or on the church's Facebook page.
