Remembering a loved one at a time of Remembrance

Two Caversham churches are inviting people to come and remember a loved one in a peaceful service of prayer and reflection. On Sunday, 30 October, 4.00pm, St John’s Church on Gosbrook Road and, one Sunday, 6 November 6.30pm, St Peter’s on The Warren will remember loved ones who have died. All are welcome on a day called All Souls in church calendars.

A week later, on Sunday  13 November, St Peter’s and St John’s will mark Remembrance Sunday with services beginning at 9.30am and ending in time for worshippers to join the ceremony at Caversham’s war memorial. Sister church St Margaret’s, in Mapledurham, will mark Remembrance with a service starting at 11.00am.

“The three churches of Caversham Thameside and Mapledurham Parish are here for everyone whether remembering a loved, welcoming a new child, celebrating a wedding or simply as a quiet place for reflection or for worship,” says the Rector, the Revd Mike Smith.
