Pastoral, Data and Committee Secretary

The Diocese of Oxford is the administrative area of the Church of England that, broadly speaking, covers the three counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

We are seeking to appoint a Pastoral, Data and Committee Secretary to work as part of the central services team to:

  • Work closely with the key stakeholders in order to successfully implement pastoral reorganisation schemes across the Diocese;
  • Enable smooth running of the Bishop’s Council, Archdeaconry and Diocesan Mission and Pastoral Committees by providing effective administrative and secretarial service;
  • Act as a Data Protection Adviser for both central services and for parishes

If you have proven ability to understand and work with legal frameworks in a creative way; have great attention to detail and thoroughness in all aspects of work; take pride in your excellent communication skills and use your IT skills, including use of databases confidently, we’d like to hear from you.

It is important to us to hear from a variety of people, especially those who have experience of working in a committee structured organisation. So, if you are interested in working with parishes and deaneries to adapt our structures to support our mission, empathise with our Christian ethos and have a good understanding of data protection issues, we would love to hear from you.
