Christmas funding boost for Berkshire church

A rural Berkshire church will be celebrating this Christmas as the National Churches Trust has confirmed a grant of £15,000.

First grants from new Development Fund to help local churches

Mission projects in churches across the Diocese of Oxford are set to benefit from £3m worth of grants over three years. The first round of grant-making saw 60 applications from parishes, benefices and deaneries from across the Diocese of Oxford. The amount of money requested was for £1.6m, far exceeding the initial funding pot.

Calmer classrooms with the Contemplative Toolkit

The noise of the classroom quietens down within minutes as children become still and calm during a series of new contemplative practices being piloted across the Diocese of Oxford.

That was what happened at Goring CE Primary School, one of the Church schools taking part in the Contemplative Toolkit pilot. It is one of a suite of similar resources being trialled among youth groups and families and set to launch in 2020.
