A series of events for teenagers exploring a bigger picture of faith

How does being a follower of Jesus change the way we live our lives? Are we called to something more than just ‘getting along’? Marked out as people who can make a difference?

What is it?

Marked Out is a series of gatherings over 2019-20. It’s for teenagers aged 15 and above who want to explore their faith and make a difference in the world, locally and globally.

You’ll be part of a community who are journeying and learning together, and you will be sharing thoughts and experiences with people from other countries and contributing to decision making about how we live our faith in the Diocese of Oxford.

Marked Out begins with a weekend at the St Cassian’s Centre, Kintbury (Berkshire) from 25–27 October 2019. You are VERY welcome on this weekend even if you do not want to be part of the events that follow. For those who do, that weekend is just the start …

When and where?

There will then be two Saturdays and a Saturday/Sunday overnighter running up to Easter (each event is in Oxfordshire):

  • 30 November 2019
  • 25 January 2020
  • 21 – 22 March 2020 (2 days)

In July 2020 there are two significant events happening in the Diocese:

  • A visit from our link Diocese in South Africa
  • and the Diocese of Oxford is hosting Bishops from around the world who are attending the Lambeth Conference.

You will be there – finding out what happens and the opportunities there are for you to be involved.

Marked Out ends with an optional pilgrimage to Taizé in France. Join with thousands of other young people around the world in community, prayer, work, worship and party.

What does it cost?

The only cost is the cost of getting to the events in Oxfordshire. If you join us for the Taizé trip, the coach to and from London and the cost of the stay in France is paid for by the Diocese.
