All parochial clergy are required to attend safeguarding training every three years under arrangements approved by the bishop.

If you have an employed (not volunteer) Children, Youth, Family or Pastoral Care Worker, please encourage them to attend also. We are covering Self Supporting Minister, Licensed Lay Ministers, PTO’s and Religious Communities through separate programmes. Clergy training is not applicable to Parish Safeguarding Training which can be arranged separately by contacting Rebecca Norris-Bulpitt (rebecca.norris-bulpitt@oxford.anglican.org)

If you have received safeguarding training within the last three years, either within the Diocese or from another Diocese or statutory body, and consider you do not need further training at present, please supply the date of the training and the name of the providing organization by email to John Nixson (john.nixson@oxford.anglican.org) and he will advise you and your bishop if this is sufficient to exempt you from the need to attend this programme. If you have received clergy safeguarding training in 2014 and 2015 with the Diocese of Oxford then we will know about this so you do not need to contact us.
