Lay ministry

Supporting the many expressions of lay ministry across the diocese

In this section you will find a wide range of information and lay training opportunities, either provided by the diocese or local and national organisations. Scroll down to find out more.

You will also find links to those ministries which require either authorisation or license by a bishop. These will guide you through the discernment and selection processes, as well as training routes. Here's where you can find access to the wider Continual Ministerial Development programme, open to Authorised and Licensed Lay Ministers.

In addition, there are other dedicated pages for other expressions of lay ministries – youth, children and families ministers, new congregations leaders, small group leaders and churchwardens.

If you are thinking that you may be called to lay ministry and would like further information, you'll find that on the Called to Lay Ministry page.

If you can’t find what you need, do be in touch.
