Mission Enabler, Bicester Methodist Church

Jesus wants his love and good news to be shared with everyone, and we believe that includes right here in Bicester!

Our church is ideally situated right in the town centre. We want to reach out to the community around our church, and to make the most of the mission opportunities offered by the rapid expansion of Bicester.

We are therefore looking to appoint a

Mission Enabler

Do you have the vision and passion to join us at this exciting time in our Church life?

Can you help us to:

  • identify and respond to the needs of our community?
  • grow and develop our mission activities?
  • encourage our members to live out and share their faith in practical ways?

You will work with our minister and leadership team to implement the church’s growth plan, building on existing relationships with individuals and organisations in Bicester. This is a new post, and we would love to talk to you to about your ideas for how you could help us best meet the needs of our community. The COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the advertisement of this post, but we have been encouraged by the many new ways of meeting as Christians and opportunities to serve others which have emerged over the past year.

The post is offered for between 21 and 30 hours per week and the salary will be £10.40 per hour (i.e. up to a maximum of £16,224 per annum based on 30 hours a week, or pro-rata).

The post will be available to start from 1 September 2021. It is a fixed-term post for three years, with the possibility of extension subject to securing further grant funding.

Interviews are expected to be held on Friday 7 May or Saturday 8 May 2021.

An enhanced DBS check will be required.
There is a genuine occupational requirement that you should be an active committed Christian.
