House for Duty Associate Priest & Chaplain to the Ewelme Almshouse Charity

,

Benson with Ewelme is a new benefice of five churches in four parishes in rural South Oxfordshire. We are now seeking a House for Duty Associate Priest (Sundays plus 2 days a week or equivalent) to minister alongside the Rector in helping us grow in faith and reach our villages with the good news of Christ. We are looking for someone who:

  • is a faithful teacher and preacher of God’s word, and delights to celebrate the sacraments
  • has a deep and joyful inner life of prayer that can inspire us
  • enjoys the life, rhythm, and pace of small village life
  • enjoys the spark of working with school children and teachers
  • is willing to be creative in outreach and evangelism
  • makes deep connections with people as a fearless pastor

The Associate Priest will live in Ewelme, one of Oxfordshire’s most beautiful villages, in diocesan housing.

The Associate Priest will also be appointed concurrently as Chaplain to the Ewelme Almshouse Charity, to offer pastoral care to almshouse residents and support to Ewelme Church of England Primary School. The post of Chaplain to the Ewelme Almshouse Charity is accompanied by an honorarium of £5,000 per annum.

For an initial conversation, please telephone the Rector, the Revd Dr Patrick Gilday, on (01491) 838535.
