Family Worker, St Michael and All Angels, Sandhurst

Why we want to appoint a Family Worker

St Michael’s sees itself as a church for all ages, and we have a good track record of providing activities for children and young people. With the increasing pressures on families, we seek to be a community where parents and children can be supported to grow and flourish, both spiritually and in other ways. This vacancy has arisen due to the relocation of our current Family Worker, who has established a solid foundation for future development over the past four years.

The role of our Family Worker is to extend pastoral care, spiritual nurture and outreach to families within and outside the church community, both by direct contact and by encouraging Christian families to support each other and reach out to others outside the church.

Who we are looking for

If you are friendly, good at getting alongside parents, have a love for Jesus and a passion to see others come to know him, you could be the person we are looking for. You will need to be self-motivated and good at motivating others, be familiar with the pressures of modern family life and have some experience of working with families and children in a church context.

Salary: Full-time £24k-£27k depending on experience, or pro-rata depending on experience and hours.
