We invite you to our induction and commissioning of new church school headteachers
15th October 2018 (9.00 am – 3.30 pm)
The induction day will introduce you to the vision for education in the diocese through presentations from Advisers, the Director of Education and leaders from schools. The induction also includes the commissioning of new headteachers and presentation of Bibles by the Rt Revd Dr Steven Croft, Bishop of Oxford.
We will focus on the distinctive qualities of today’s church school and your role in creating an excellent environment in which children and staff can flourish.
The induction day will enable you to:
Increase your knowledge about headship in a Church of England school and reflect upon the distinctive role of a church school headteacher
Learn about developing:
- School Vision
- Collective Worship and Religious Education
- Leadership of a church school, governance and links with the local church
Become familiar with:
- Diocesan CPD programmes
- School Link Adviser Support
- Our Service Level Agreement
Learn about the SIAMS processes and self-evaluation
Share and discuss ideas and concerns with colleagues from around the diocese

Meet members of the Diocesan Education Team
