MORE than 30 churches from across Oxford will be uniting in July for an open air service, Love Oxford 2017 .

Building on the success of Love Oxford 2015, Christians from all denominations, backgrounds, and ethnicities will gather to worship Jesus as Lord with one voice.

The purpose is to bless the city of Oxford, to pray for her well-being, and to enjoy worshipping God together in the open air.

Worshippers packed out a huge tent in South Park, Oxford, during Love Oxford 2010.

The Revd Canon Charlie Cleverly, the Rector of St Aldates says: "We are excited about Love Oxford this year.

Oxford has a long history of Christian service and witness, including those who even gave their lives for the faith.

We are glad to be able to join in the praises of worshipping communities over the centuries". The service will be family-friendly, with activities for young people.

Love Oxford invites all, whether from a faith-background or none, to hear the good news that Christians believe about Jesus.

It will be an opportunity to experience vibrant Christian worship, and see the diversity of churches in the Oxford area. Love Oxford 2017 is happening with the full permission and support of the City Council, and the event will be staffed by volunteers from local churches.
