Director of Formation (Cuddesdon Pathways) – Ripon College Cudddesdon

Ripon College Cuddesdon (RCC), one of the largest institutions in the Church of England dedicated principally to the training of clergy, intends to appoint a priest to the senior role of Director of Formation for its Cuddesdon-based Pathways from September 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is a full-time senior leadership role to share in the formation, training and teaching of ordinands and lay ministerial and independent students.

The appointee will teach in an area for which they are qualified and support a number of students as their personal tutor. This is a new post created to carry forward the ongoing integration of full-time and part-time, residential and non-residential, ordinand streams, and is being made against the backdrop of the changes emerging in the TEI sector as a whole resulting from the Renewing Ministerial Formation Review.

The appointee will work closely with the principal, academic dean and bursar, together with them and the directors of the off-site Pathways comprising the Senior Leadership Team of the TEI. The team currently includes a highly experienced vice principal, whose role is anticipated to come to an end in the next two years or so, so further adjustments to role portfolios are possible. In the early stages, there will be an emphasis on leading the Cuddesdon part-time Pathway into closer integration both with the full-time Pathway and (especially through the shared weekends and residential programmes) with the off-site Pathways.

More information, including a job description and how to apply can be found on the Ripon College Cuddesdon website.

Closing date for applications is 14 May 2021.

There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the post-holder is a Christian. Regulation 7(2)a of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 applies.
