Director of Finance

An excellent and strategically minded Finance Director is sought to join the leadership team of one of the largest dioceses in the Church of England.

This is a complex role and rewarding opportunity to use your gifts and experience to influence a diocese that serves 2.4 million people (growing rapidly) with a proactive strategic agenda that has emerged from the needs and opportunities of our communities.

The role includes everything that one would expect to go with overseeing the finances of charities with a turnover of about £27 million p.a., investments of about £130m and over 100 staff.  You will join a well-established senior management group with shared Christian ethos, vision and strategic aims who are committed to see growth and make a difference.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, with considerable experience in financial planning and delivery, preferably in a variety of organisations. You will be self-motivated and think analytically when maintaining robust financial controls. As a collaborative Christian leader with excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, resilience and humour, you will make a lasting difference to the communities we serve and contribute to the ongoing growth of the Church.

The post is subject to the requirement that the holder be a practising Christian, under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010 as this post has a senior representational role on behalf of the Church in the Diocese of Oxford.

Salary: £70,871 – £76,322 per annum
