Everyone’s lost track of time in lockdown and we’re no exception! Our final Church at Home service will be on Sunday 23 May (not the earlier date previously advertised). It’s been a joy to worship alongside you over this past year, and we look forward to celebrating Pentecost together.

With onsite worship on the horizon and hundreds of churches now offering their own online services, we’d love to know where you’re planning to worship once Church at Home finishes. Please take two minutes to let us know and, if you need some help, then we’d love to support you in finding a local church to continue your journey with.

Special services – Bishop of Dorchester

On 24 November 2020 the Queen approved the appointment of the Venerable Gavin Collins, Archdeacon of the Meon, as the next Bishop of Dorchester. Due to lockdown restrictions, the Bishop of Oxford announced the news at an online meeting streamed from Dorchester Abbey with over 100 civic leaders and local clergy in attendance.

Pending consecration the Bishop-elect is currently licensed as Episcopal Vicar for the Dorchester Episcopal Area. Gavin will be formally welcomed to the Diocese in an online service to take place on Sunday 28 February. All are welcome.

Bishop Colin retired in November having served with great distinction as Bishop of Dorchester for the last twenty years. We have two very special services available online.

Annual service for Licensed Lay Ministers

This was a public re-stream of the Annual Service for Licensed Lay Ministers taking place on Zoom. Please pray for all those to be admitted and licensed, for their families and all who love and support them, and for their parishes and the people they will serve. The President is the Rt Revd Dr Steven Croft.

Michaelmas Ordinations

In this time of pandemic, the ordination of Priests and Deacons this Michaelmas took place at a number of churches. We are grateful to each of the church communities for being willing to live stream the service. Links to watch recordings of each service (where available) are on our YouTube channel.
