STUDENTS at Church of England secondary schools in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire are celebrating their A Level successes. At the Oxford Academy there was a 100 per cent pass rate for the first time in the school's history, with 19 per cent of students achieving A* to B grades and more university applications than ever before.

Headteacher Niall McWilliam said: "I'm delighted with the 100 per cent pass rate but I want to see even more improvements in the future. "Teachers at the Chiltern Hills Academy in Chesham were delighted that 100 per cent of the students applying to higher education have been successful in achieving their first choice of university place. Further to the A Level results there was a 100% pass rate in the BTEC courses (studied at Level 2 and Level 3).

There were four merits achieved in Business Studies and also distinctions in Performing Arts, Acting Skills and Music Studies. Kevin Patrick, Principal, said: "There are many talented and hardworking students at the Academy and they should feel very proud.

This underlines the commitment of students and staff and the great support of our parents. "Peter Norman, head teacher at the Waddesdon CE School, said his Year 13 students had achieved a fantastic set of results.

He said: "This is a real testimony to the high aspirations, hard work and dedication of our students and their teachers. Particularly impressive was that 25 per cent of the overall results achieved were A* and A grades with 75 per cent at A*, A, B and C. "Along with these well-deserved results, our students also leave us with strong values, the willingness to contribute to the wider community, and readiness to embark on the next exciting phase of their lives.

Congratulations to all of our students, who have once again outperformed expectations, to their supportive parents, and thank you to our staff for all of their commitment and hard work."
