Chaplaincy Team Leader, Ranelagh and Sandhurst Secondary Schools

, , ,

Ranelagh Church of England Secondary School in Bracknell and Sandhurst Secondary School are seeking to appoint an experienced and creative person to this new and exciting pioneer role across the two schools.

As befits a new role, there is a certain amount of flexibility in how the job description will emerge, however, there will be a clear emphasis on: pastoral care for pupils, staff and parents; the Chaplain Team Leader as a person of lively and authentic Christian faith who relates well with young people communicating timeless Christian truths in new and fresh ways; and the Chaplain as someone who feels called to help shape the ethos and character of both schools through committed engagement with all areas of school life.

A key part of the work will be building up a team of Chaplaincy Assistants and, over time, the postholder will also work with a network of local Primary Schools assisting in the time of crucial transition from Year 6 Primary to Year 7 in Secondary School.

It should also be stated that this position is open to both lay and ordained candidates, and that the postholder does not necessarily have to be affiliated to the Church of England, though an appreciation of this tradition would, of course, be important.
