The Bishop of Reading has issued a statement on Pete Jarvis.
He said:"I understand that the Revd Pete Jarvis has been charged with sexual offences involving young people.
It will be some time before the matter comes to court."The Church of England expects the highest standards of personal conduct in its clergy.
Because the Diocese of Oxford takes allegations such as this extremely seriously Mr Jarvis was asked to withdraw from his duties as soon as the allegations came to light last year and this will remain the case until the court has made its decision. "We will continue to work closely with the statutory authorities until the case is concluded.
Meanwhile I am keeping all those affected in my prayers."
