BAME Development Enabler


Have you a passion for nurturing and supporting the faith journeys of BAME people whilst challenging and changing discrimination and prejudice? Are you committed to a church that includes diverse people of all abilities and life experiences, and generates an enriched understanding of God from them? Are you already in ordained ministry and would welcome an additional dimension?  This new role is an exciting opportunity for someone to be an influencer and pioneer.

We are seeking a baptised Christian who is passionate about the place of BAME people in God’s mission within the Anglican church who:

  • has experience of bringing cultural change through others to increase participation and representation at all levels of the Church;
  • values the spiritual gifts of BAME people and desires that the wider church actively learns from them;
  • understands the spiritual, cultural and pastoral needs of BAME people;
  • is familiar with vocations processes which enable the development of new and existing ministries;
  • is both self-motivating and enthusiastic about working collaboratively.

Contract:                    3 Year fixed term
Hours:                         FTE 18.5 hours per week
Salary scale:              £40,812.81 (pro rata) per annum
Location:                    Church House Oxford, Langford Locks, Kidlington, OX5 1GF with the facility to work from home where necessary

We anticipate this role may attract those who are part-time in ministry and would like to undertake this as a dual role.

This role attracts a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) for the appointed persons to be a baptised Christian, lay or ordained, who is a communicant member in good standing with the Anglican Church or a church that is a member of the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland under Part 1 Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
