Lisenced Youth Ministers: The next Licensing will be in early 2009. If you are interested in being licensed and need a pack or to talk through eligibility then please be in touch. This is a great opportunity for raising the profile of youth ministry, improving employment practice, exploring professional development .... oh and it will look great on your CV!  

Network Meetings: Once a term the employed youth ministers in the Diocese get together. The next meeting will be in Oxford on Dec 1st 2008. Feb 3rd-4th 2009 is the 24 hour retreat for youth ministers and Childrens ministers at Windmill Farm Oxfordshire.

Professional Development : Well worth diving into www.infed.org occasionally, they've got some great essays to reflect on. They're starting to put some good stuff on their too relating to christian youthwork.

Upcoming conferences:

Rural Youth Network Conference. 'Young people making a difference - the social inclusion of rural youth' a Rural Youth Network conference sponsored by the Commission for Rural Communities, is due to take place on the 25th September 2008 at the Novotel Hotel East Midlands. The Federation for Detached Youth Work Annual Conference and AGM 2008. The theme this year is 'Detached Youth Work in a Multi-Agency integrated setting - a brave new World?' It will take place at the Britannia Hotel in Standish, Wigan from Thursday 13th - Saturday 15th November. Cost £300 members, £350 non-members. Employment Issues:

Amaze are the union for Christian Youth Workers and are extremely helpful on employment related issues. Worth joining!
