ONE of America's most dynamic and engaging Christian speakers will be visiting Oxford on Wednesday 27 th August.

Sara Miles was a convinced atheist and liberated woman completely satisfied with her life.

One Sunday morning out of curiosity she wandered into a church and found herself transformed - not by what was said but in the act of taking communion. That simple act turned Sara's life upside down.

Not only did she become a Christian, but went on to found "The Food Pantry" which now feeds thousands of people each week in San Francisco and in other cities across the USA.

She also now speaks and writes not only about her own experiences but also of the Christian importance of practical ministry through food. Elizabeth Whitwick, one of the organisers of Sara Miles's visit to Oxford said, "We're thrilled and delighted that Sara has accepted our invitation to come to Oxford to share something of her Christian story and experience.

Many of us have been inspired by her books and we are fortunate that Sara has agreed to come here as one of few speaking engagements on her visit to the UK in August. "Rt Rev John Pritchard, Bishop of Oxford, has quoted extensively from one of Sara's books in his own writing and has said, "Sara Miles is just the sort of feisty, down to earth Christian you want on your team.

Powerful, joyful, honest - what more could you want?"Sara will be speaking at St Michael and All Angels Church in Marston at 7pm on Wednesday 27 th August.
