Is God Calling You To Share In The Ministry Of Your Local Church By preaching on a regular basis? or by Leading worship services that are communion by extension? Are you already doing this and want to learn more about it so that your gifts can be developed? The Diocesan Portfolio scheme Portfolio recognises that everybody comes to ministry and to learning from different places and in different ways. Like an artist’s portfolio, in the diocese you are asked to put together evidence of your learning and your ability. These areas of ability and learning are divided up into units or modules, which the diocese calls Gifts and Competencies. The diocese will provide you with a mentor to work with you as you put together a portfolio, and operates a moderation process. The diocese also has links with Oxford Brookes University so that you can put your work towards a certificate, diploma or degree in ministry, if you wish to. If you are already experienced it will be a matter of putting together a portfolio of your experience, but if you are starting out you will probably want to do some training. The diocese wants training to be as accessible as possible. So we are always glad to help deaneries and parishes organise local training, as well as offering relevant courses throughout the diocese.
