Ride or Stride 2006

Date Added: Friday 25th August 2006
Ride or Stride 2006
Ian Macdonald, Diocesan Youth Adviser

Cyclists and walkers in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire will be taking part in this year’s ‘Ride or Stride’ on Saturday 9th September.

The annual event raises money for the Historic Churches Trust and participants are sponsored for the number of churches they visit in one day.

540 churches are visited by over 900 cyclists and walkers, and at least 2,000 people help keep these churches open from 10am to 6pm. Sponsorship forms can be obtained from your local church.

Participants in Oxfordshire can find more information on the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust web site.

In Buckinghamshire you can contact the County Organiser, Patricia Burstall on 01628 482754.

Comments
Is Ride and Stride the same as Cycle Ride Or Walk (CROW)? I think that Crow (at least in Berkshire) was started by Brigadier Barbour, one of our previous Churchwardens, whose ashes are interred by the path at our church of Sulhamstead Abbots.
