Back to Church Sunday (Sunday 25 September, 2011) has been described as "the largest single local-church invitational initiative in the world". It is based on the simplest and shortest step in evangelism - that we should invite someone we already know to something we love, or in other words, invite our friend to our church. In order to take part in the initiative, churches are invited to register withBack to Church Sunday, enabling them to access its materials, resources and national media campaign.

Speaking about the campaign, Diocesan Director of Mission, Michael Beasley said, "Research shows that a remarkable proportion of our population would like to go to church - if only someone would invite them. Back to Church Sunday provides an excellent opportunity for this to occur."
