THE Revd Nigel Hardcastle shook hands with celebrity Chris Tarrant as he received his Pride of Reading Community Champion Award.
Nigel was given the award for his work setting up the Reading Faith Forum, which has now been running for 10 years, and speaks out on issues of mutual concern for people of all faiths in Reading.

It comprises two members of Churches Together in Reading as well as Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus and Jews.
Nigel said: “There were 150 people at the ceremony where 15 awards were given out. I was the first person to be called up on stage and it was quite a surprise to be called up to stand between two big Oscar figures to receive a little glass trophy.”
