Churches in Community

This document is written by an ecumenical group of Christians who believe that churches have an opportunity to grasp the hand of partnership working offered in the current climate of community planning. The authors are Christians modelling one kind of partnership approach by being ecumenical, from different settings and Christian traditions across the South East Region! The authors know that the Faith sector is wider than Christian, and want to encourage the notion of partnership between the discrete faith groups. Opportunities for a common approach to community focussed strategies arising particularly out of the Local Strategic Partnership process should be grasped. Much of this document is specifically aimed at Christian groups and churches but we hope that the material will be useful to other faith communities as broad brush strokes to engender engagement with the issues from a wide faith perspective.
