Wednesday 23rd August 2006
Yellow Braces 2006 was again a huge success with a great bunch of teenagers from around the Diocese getting together for a weekend of malarkey, Christian community and great food. As well as the usual activities and a dip in the arctic swimming pool everyone also took part in ‘The Beat goes on’ campaign, a national initiative to highlight the fact that the demands for trade justice were still on the agenda.
Nearly 100 people sustaining a percussion rhythm on improvised drums was a sound that will be very difficult to forget!
The worship, the talks, the campaigning for social justice and the experience of Christian community all came together as a memorable experience of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Next year’s Yellow Braces will be on the 6-8 August.
