The House of Bishops considered the issue of CRB renewals in September 2005. It has recommended that, for the time being, dioceses do not start re-checking people who are still in the same post. This will be reviewed in 2007, by which time it is expected that the government will have clarified its plans for the future of the CRB checking service.
