Coming to faith is like a journey; living faith is a day for all those people who help others on their journey to faith and discipleship. Some of these people will be happy to call themselves ‘evangelists’ whilst others will define themselves by their special roles – they may lead nurture courses or holiday clubs, they may be those whose particular gift is always to invite people to ‘come along’, or it may be that they are keen to develop a strategy of outreach in their parish or benefice – and want to know where to begin.
living faith will celebrate the ministry of evangelism. We hope that people will be encouraged and affirmed – and that they will, at the end of the day, be enthusiastic for the future and aware of a range of possible next steps.
The content of the day will include worship, talks from Bishop John and Bishop Stephen, parish stories and group work as well as a variety of resource stalls.
living faith will be a day for both lay and ordained Christians. It is an initiative of the Diocese of Oxford and it is primarily intended for our own congregations in order to help them to grow. In fact, we would love to welcome a team from every parish!
We think that the best way to encourage parish or benefice groups to sign up is to ask that the process of booking should be through parish or benefice clergy. There will be a charge of £10 per person – to include lunch for bookings received on or before Monday March 31st (rising to £15 thereafter until May 1st when bookings close).
