David Winter’s new Lent book follows the story of Jesus and his followers to Jerusalem, the culmination of his ministry in the events of Good Friday and Easter.
Jesus’ 12 disciples, most of them barely in their twenties, heard and obeyed his call to follow him, whatever the consequences. With them, through the pages of this book, we can respond to this call.
Starting with the transfiguration, the book journeys alongside the disciples and listens in to their questions and discussions: Who is the greatest? What is the cost of following?
The book contains a reading and a reflection for every day from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. The reflections are based on the theme of ‘following’.
The Door has five copies of the Journey to Jerusalem to give away. Send your entries to Book Draw, Diocesan Church House, North Hinksey Lane, Oxford OX2 0NB. As we’d like winners to get their copy in time for Lent, the deadline is early: 5 February. Winners will be drawn at random on that date.
