PREACHING at the Service of Thanksgiving for 25 years of Helen House in Oxford, the Most Revd and Rt Hon Dr Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, praised children’s hospices as communities where unlikely freedom, hope, faith and love show their strength in what could easily be defeat.
The deeply moving Service at Christ Church Cathedral was attended by past and current families, staff and volunteers from Helen and Douglas House.
The Archbishop was back in Oxford again as he officially opened the new CMS (Church Mission Society) Headquarters.
CMS spokesman John Martin said the organisation looked forward to a growing relationship with the city.
