Around 140 clergy from the Buckingham Archdeaconry responded to Bishop Alan’s invitation to gather on 24 January 2007 to explore the theme of “Wellbeing - sustaining yourself in the face of change”. The day was an opportunity for learning, fellowship and reflection. As Bishop Alan said in his invitation “I very much hope that this day will draw us together, be refreshing to body, mind and spirit, and will help us all develop positive ideas and resources to support ourselves in our ministries”
The brand new St James Centre at Gerrards Cross proved to be a first class venue and their generous hospitality modelled the theme for the day. The main content of the day were 2 keynote addresses, both of which can be downloaded.
Professor Martyn Percy, Principal of Ripon College, Cuddesdon focused on a theological exploration of the changing nature of priesthood today (listen- 9mb - windows media).
Paul Williams, host incumbent at St James Gerrards Cross and Fulmer, led everyone through the often treacherous terrority of “Wellbeing for Leadership and Teams” (listen - 6mb - windows media).
