Walkies anyone?

Walkies anyone?

ReSource is encouraging dog owners to take part in a brand new fundraising event called the Dog Collar Walk.

Around the country local organisers will fix their route, recruit friends and neighbours and together they will raise funds for local ministry.  Money will be split equally between the local nominated church and ReSource – who will provide support, practical information and resources for the church minister.

The Rt Revd Stephen Cottrell, Bishop of Reading, said:

'Speaking as someone who regularly trudges up and down the Thames towpath walking our lively dog – an interesting half collie half weasel mix – I am pleased to support this typically resourceful idea from ReSource. From now on we can walk the dog and support our God all at the same time.'

Martin Cavender, Director of Resource, said:

“This is a fantastic way of meeting some new people (and dogs), building a community spirit, getting some exercise and showing practically that we care about the church and its ministry in this country”

Sharing in an activity such as a Dog Collar Walk is one of the best ways of demonstrating God’s love and building bridges between church and community.

To sign up and receive a Dog Collar Walk pack, call 01235 553722 or email ReSource
