Växjö in Oxford The exploratory visit by representatives of the diocese of Växjö to Oxford took place in 2002. The group was based in Wantage, as guests of the Community of St Mary the Virgin, and visited places as diverse as The Vale of White Horse, and Milton Keynes, Berinsfield and Olney, as well as being shown round the Cathedral and Church House. It was at the end of this visit, after a meal attended by representatives of both dioceses, that Bishop Anders and Bishop Richard asked Tony Dickinson and Christopher Meakin to draw up a covenant of partnership between the two dioceses. The covenant was ratified by the appropriate diocesan bodies before the end of the year and signed in Christ Church Cathedral on 3rd April, 2003, and in Växjö Cathedral the following January.
