Ministering the gospel of Christ to people in their daily work and economic relationships is part of the whole life and mission of the Church. The ecumenical team of chaplains is a focus of experience and expertise where the concerns and priorities of the churches and the rapidly changing economic sector meet and interact. The team provides:
- an outreach to people at all levels in industry, commerce and other work, and institutions concerned with economic affairs and unemployment
- a resource for local churches in their ministry to the workers and economic institutions in their area
- a similar resource to the regional structures of the Churches and their leaders as they address economic and employment issues
