A NEW chapter for the Church in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire was celebrated with a special celebration to mark the grand opening of the Diocese's super-modern new building.

The caf รจ at Church House Oxford was packed with people, including the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Tim Stevenson OBE and a host of clergy, diocesan staff and civil dignitaries. After a short service the Acting Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd Colin Fletcher, thanked everyone, for attending.

He then dedicated and unveiled a plaque before cutting a special celebratory cake, made by Human Resources Administrator Susie Sigworth. Bishop Colin said: "I was just asked by Radio Oxford what the purpose of the building and the purpose is to serve. " He said that within the Diocese there are hundreds upon hundreds of parishes, thousands upon thousands of people and thousands of children in Church schools. Rosemary Pearce, Diocesan Secretary, said: "I wanted to say how much we are enjoying this building. " She said a number of staff were involved in the design of Church House Oxford.

"We are already noticing how it is changing the way we work together.

It is transformational for the way we work. "
