Changes to VAT for alterations to church buildings
The Church of England is urging the Chancellor to reconsider the extension of the standard rate of VAT (currently zero rated) to alternations to listed places of worship, as well as the reduced rate of VAT (currently 5%) payable by churches for certain 'energy saving materials' (such as solar panels).
