The communications department is running a special campaign for Easter called Easter Ingredients, based on hot cross buns.
We have designed a card which explains the significance of the hot cross bun – and points people towards their local church to find out more about the Easter story.
We will be giving away hot cross buns to shoppers in Milton Keynes, Oxford and Reading town centres on Good Friday this year. Each bun will be packed separately with a card.
You can download a low-resolution version of the card here. It folds into three, with the bun picture serving as the front cover.

The card points readers towards a dedicated website, www.easteringredients.org, which will include Easter activities for children, prayers and an Easter podcast by Bishop John. The website is not yet available but will be activated in early March.
In most areas the Easter weekend falls within school term time, so we are encouraging parishes to order our special ‘Easter ingredients’ cards for children in local schools. We suggest you might like to use them in a Good Friday service or in other ways in your local area. You may find that your local supermarket or baker may be willing to provide free or discounted buns in exchange for a plug.
A pack of 50 cards costs £5. They will be available for collection from Diocesan Synod on Saturday 8 March or from Reception at Diocesan Church House from Monday 10 March. Alternatively we can post them to you at an extra cost of £2 per pack.
The absolute last date for orders is Friday 22 February. Unfortunately, if you haven’t ordered by this date we will not be able to supply the cards.
Please download an order form here and send it by post, with a cheque made out to ‘ODBF’, to Easter Ingredients, Jane Manley, Diocesan Church House, North Hinksey Lane, Oxford OX2 0NB.
For more information please phone Jane Manley on 01865 208225.
