A note from Angela Tilby - Continuing Ministerial Development. I joined the department of Mission on September 5th 2011 and since then have attended a consultation on leadership and a variety of training events, and have begun a series of conversations about current and future CMD provision in the diocese. The leadership consultation showed that there was widespread appreciation for the Developing Servant Leaders Programme alongside an awareness that more could have been offered to assist ministers in their context. While the review of CMD continues and the process of restructuring the current provision begins it has been decided to offer the DSL programme in 2012/2013 for those who have not had the opportunity to participate in it. | Incumbent / LLMs / General Display |
The London Fellows Programme The Fellows Programme is a part-time year long discipleship & mentoring programme that focuses on spiritual and theological growth, and discipleship of the heart and mind. It is created by the C.S. Lewis Institute in the USA and delivered by Latimer Minster in the UK.
The programme is devoted to developing disciples who can articulate, defend and live faith in Christ in public and personal life, and allows individuals to intensely explore life changing truths from key biblical themes in discipleship, spirituality, apologetics and worldview whilst staying in full-time employment. Earthing Faith Network Over the past two years the diocese has hosted the Earthing Faith website to provide a space for churches and individuals to share ideas and experiences around the environment. We have nbow relaunched it as a network, which will replace the existing Oxford Diocese Environment Group.
The new Earthing Faith network will enable members to share ideas, case studies and resources, as well as connect with one another using Twitter and Facebook. The network will also meet physically to share and reflect on environmental issues, explore spiritual practices and resources and hear from guest speakers and environmental projects from across the diocese and beyond.
Join the network and stay up to date with news, resources and events via email - visit

'Caution? Older People!' is major conference involving the four dioceses of Coventry, Gloucester, Oxford and Worcester. Those people who live and/or worship in rural settings will recognise that their congregations can be made up predominantly of older people, often but not primarily because that reflects the changing make up of the local population. This day conference contains both celebration and challenge - it will be especially relevent to those in multi-parish benefices and there will be plenty of interest to both clergy and non-clergy.

Cut the energy bills of your church and save money The Diocese of Oxford and the national CofE Shrinking the Footprint campaign are offering churches in the diocese the opportunity to use, for free, energy monitoring software that will help track and reduce their energy use.
The scheme is partnering with sMeasure, an easy-to-use web-based energy managing tool developed by the University of Oxford, that has been designed specifically for organisations like the church. We are looking for 100 church buildings from the Diocese of Oxford to be part of this pilot scheme in 2012, before it is launched nationally in 2013. Participation in the pilot means you will give your church free access to the sMeasure tool and access to support and advice. It is being offered on a first come first served basis.
