Initial Ministerial Education
Initial Ministerial Education (IME) is the name now being used throughout the Church of England for the end to end process of training and formation, covering the period from selection for a public ministry through to the end of the early years in that work. For the ordained, this works out as the time from BAP through to the end of curacy. For public lay ministries, for example LLM, this is likely to be from selection through to the end of the first year after licensing. IME takes the long view, with formal milestones at each stage.
